FERNBACH participated in the 12th BIAN Core Team Meeting. This year's focus was the final planning for the service landscape 1.6. For the first time the working groups had the opportunity to sit together and work on problems in detail. This new approach was a great success.
The BIAN Core Team Meetings are the major events of the BIAN association. The meetings take place three times a year.

Dr. Thomas Schindler, Strategic Solution Architect, Financial Services Industries EMEA / SAP and Vice Chairman of the BIAN Working Group Service Landscape gave an update on BIAN, introduced the BIAN Service Landscape Version 1.5 and outlined the usage within SAP.
Other speakers included representatives from Citigroup, European Central Bank, the Association of German Commercial Banks / ISO, along with SWIFT.

Hans Tesselaar, Program Director at ING, Victor Dossey, Technology Strategist at Microsoft, Rich Urban, President at IFX Forum and David Bannister, Editor-in-Chief at Banking Technology provided a practical example of how the right level of collaboration can define a common infrastructure. The panel also discussed the importance of semantic business standards for SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) and how organizations have benefited from them already.

Jens-Peter Jensen, Chief Solution Architect, Financial Services at SAP, represented BIAN onsite. In order to meet and share insights with prospective member banks, he arranged individual meetings with participants.
